What are your compostable mailers made from and how do I compost my mailer and packaging?

Our mailers are home compostable, meaning- remove all tape/shipping labels, tear it up a bit, and place in your home compost bin with other dirt, leaves, food scraps and they should break down in 3-6 months. These mailers and bags:

  • Made from completely biodegradable and compostable materials; corn starch, PLA (synthesized from corn) and PBAT (Polybutyrate Adipate Terephthalate)
  • These materials are non-toxic and contain no Phthalate or Bisphenol A (BPA)
  • Certified free of GMO material
  • Production uses approx. 30% renewable energy. While these materials are biodegradable and compostable, they are not 100% renewable as the PBAT component is derived from petroleum-based materials. We are limited at the moment by the availability of suitable, sustainable raw materials that deliver the barrier and performance properties
