The English port town of Blyth in Northumberland.

Blithe - in literary terms, happy or joyous.

Blythly means joy. It means lightness. It means feeling at ease.

A note from the founder

Welcome to this colorful world, designed to fill a closet with garments that last generations and bring joy to the daily routine! I grew tired of the shameful quality of clothing being sold to me by popular retailers. So I set out to solve many of the problems fast fashion has created. I founded this company for clothing to be plastic-free, manufactured in the U.S.A, and designed for a circular product life cycle.

I am looking forward to future projects on my wish list that include experimenting with plant-based dyes, other natural fibers, and trying newer plant-based Lycra materials. (The few milligrams of plastic currently in my products can be found in the Lycra threads at the ends of the garments to allow stretch and recover.) I am infinitely inspired by the power of color and love working with it in textile design, screenprinting, and paper collage mediums. The intersection of knitwear and collage is currently where you can find my creative juices flowing.

We created Blythly to bring a buoyant feeling into what you wear; colorful pieces that lift your mood, simplify your day, and move with you from work to the weekend.

But Blythly is also about peace of mind. Every garment is made with care for both people and planet; using natural fibers, 3D knitting, and plastic free packaging.

You don’t have to second-guess what you’re wearing, put it on and wear the glow.

Certified Natural Fibers

We currently are knitting with GOTS and OEKO TEX certified organic cotton or RWS certified wool in every piece we create. Our garments are made from a single-source compostable fiber, designed for upcycling fibers into new garments for a circular design process.

GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard - the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. Through independent auditing, it requires mandatory due diligence, strict chemical restrictions, no toxic heavy metals or formaldehyde, and fair wages + no child labor in production.

OEKO TEX is another global certification ensuring our cotton has been tested for 1,000 harmful chemicals.

RWS is the Responsible Wool Standard, it certifies the sheep are humanly raised, the land is managed to protect soil and biodiversity, protect working conditions for farmers, and ensures a fully traceable supply chain.

We use a single naturally sourced fiber for every garment so they can be upcycled into new recycled fiber easier at the end of the product life. We have tired to have e 0% plastic policy with our entire product line and packaging, but at this time there are a few threads of Lycra knit into every garment to allow for stretch and recover. Overall we are very close to being entirely plastic free.

Made in the USA

Designed in New Hampshire and woven in Brooklyn, New York. We are proud to support American artisans and engineers to deliver you custom-made garments crafted in factories that have supported American ingenuity for generations.

We use 3D knitting machines for every product. This allows for made-to-order production, negligible fiber waste, and more durable and lighter garments for our customers. 3D knitting machines create the whole garment in one session, there are not cut and sewn patterns that have seams and waste fiber.
